NOW HERE!  The SunCity Advocate!
Of the People ... for the People ... by the People!

Online Newsletter and BLOG!—we're NEW, we're BOLD, and we're FREE!

The SunCity Advocate is a grassroots, online newsletter hoping to reach those who wish to take a more active role in the way our Community is managed but aren't quite sure how to do so, or are seeking alternative methods of involvement. The Advocate is dedicated to:
  • Raising resident awareness of various important issues affecting each homeowner,
  • Encouraging open and reasoned communication among all residents and the elected officials who represent them,
  • Providing an Open Forum for all those interested to speak their mind,
  • Serving as an "at-your-finger-tip" Community Issue Information Resource that can be quickly searched by topic, and
  • Offering helpful "new owner tips" especially for those transplants new to our Sun City Community and the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Initially, the web site will contain (3) sections.
  1. A monthly Feature Article Section and BLOG! to introduce community issues currently on the table, outlining the basic facts of the issue within context, and briefly explaining the various factors involved, both pro and con. Articles will be solicited from knowledgeable individuals with proven expertise in the field.
  2. A Sun City "OPEN FORUM" for residents to voice their opinion and speak their mind on all matters rele vant to Sun City Hilton Head.
  3. A "Letters-to-the-Editor" section for residents to air their opinion on any topic of concern.
  4. An occasional and informal, online Opinion Poll concerning topical community issues, events, or policies.
The SunCity Advocate will present a wide platform of issues and provide a forum where the importance of critical decisions and proper planning in preparation for the changes to come can be emphasized, understood, and discussed openly to ensure an equitable and viable future for all concerned.

Online Usernames are planned and may be used to provide a certain amount of anonymity for all but the "squeakiest" wheel; or,if you prefer, you can "BLOG!" anonymously, but we hope you won't—your voice is important no matter the topic, no matter the viewpoint. So let's hear what you have to say!

Anyone interested in writing an informative article on a timely issue or eager to simply report the news, Sign-up NOW! Join us and speak your mind. "If it's fit to print, we will!"

Depending upon how it evolves, the SunCity Advocate hopes to reach all within the Sun City Hilton Head Community and encourage everyone to take an active part in the government and management of the community, in a positive manner, for the betterment of everyone.

We welcome your thoughts, opinions, and suggestions on making this site a valuable, alternative resource for all residents, hope you find the concept interesting, and will check back often once it is fully up and running. You won't be disappointed!

Note: Neither this site nor the opinions expressed herein are endorsed by either Sun City or its representatives, nor do they necessarily represent the opinions of Sun City or any of its representatives, but are solely the opinion and responsibility of each author.
